the way you figure it out is to do the percentages form smallest to largest
we know 5%=30
Reptiles 30
Birds 30
next percentage is 10% you will divide this the the percentage above (continue this step for rest of percentages)
Fish 10% ÷ 5% = 2
now you multiple that number by previous percentage amount you go which was 30
2 x 30 = 60 students
cats 35% ­÷ 10 = 3.5
3.5 x 60 = 210 students
Dogs 45% ÷ 35% = 1.28571428571
1.28571428571 x 210 = 270 students
now add each total number of students
270+210+60+30+30 = 600 students total surveyed
