Why can't we not see the entire Milky Way from our point on Earth?

The Milky Way is a spiral galaxy, and from our point on Earth, we can only see a small portion of it. This is because we are located within the Milky Way, so we can only see the stars and other objects that are relatively close to us. Additionally, the dust and gas that make up the Milky Way block our view of the more distant stars and objects.
