Prove that one half the sum of any two real numbers is between the two real numbers.

a<b, so a/2 < b/2
so the mean,
(a+b)/2 < b/2 + b/2 = b
similarly, (a+b).2 > a
so the mean,
(a+b)/2 < b/2 + b/2 = b
similarly, (a+b).2 > a
