                The angles of a triangle have been labelled as A, B, and C, and the lengths of the corresponding opposite sides as a, b, and c. Given c=4, a=3 and B = 60°. The value of b satisfies
(A) b<2 (B) 2<b<3 (C) 3<b<4 (D) 4<b<5

        (A) b<2 (B) 2<b<3 (C) 3<b<4 (D) 4<b<5

    Make a diagram of ABC
Draw the altitude CD to AB.
Since BC = 3, BD = 3/2 and CD = 3/2 √3
That means DA= 5/2, and thus
b^2 = 25/4 + 27/4 = 13
b = √13 so
3 < b < 4
