I am trying to type a paper on word. I can't figure out how to turn off this function? when i go back and add text, it deletes what i have already written, letter by letter as i type. I can't just add a sentence in a paragraph because it is deleting. Any suggestions?

Check and make sure your "Insert" button is pressed on your keyboard.

Push the "insert" button ONCE.
