first, find the molar mass of sucrose (342.30g/mol). then, find how many moles of sucrose you need to get to 60.8g. then, double that because youre starting with half a mole of sucrose per liter of solution.
so...
60.8/342.30 = 0.1776
0.1776*2 = 0.355
so 0.355 liters would contain 60.8g of sucrose
What volume of a 0.500 M sucrose ( C12H22O11 ) solution contains 60.8 g of sucrose?

Just another way, but not a bettr way, to look at the same problem.
mols sucrose in 60.8 g = grams/molar mass = 60.8/342.3 = 0.178
mols = M x L = 0.178
0.178 = 0.500 x L
L = 0.178/0.500 = 0.0356 L = 35.6 mL
mols sucrose in 60.8 g = grams/molar mass = 60.8/342.3 = 0.178
mols = M x L = 0.178
0.178 = 0.500 x L
L = 0.178/0.500 = 0.0356 L = 35.6 mL
