That will tell you which atoms are present and may tll you how they are bonded but it will NOT tell you the composition in terms of how many of those atoms are present. That is it will tell you, for examle, that you are looking at sodium atoms and chlorine atoms but it will not tell you the composition is NaCl and not NaCl2 or Na2Cl.
