Mr David sold 1/4 of his eggs on Saturday and 1/6 of the remainder on Sunday. If he had 140 eggs left, how many eggs did he have at first?

1/4 + 1/6 (3/4) = 3/8
so,
5/8 x = 140

Remainder=1-1/4 =3/4
Sunday =1/6 of 3/4 =1/8
left= 1-(1/4+1/8)
=1-3/8
=5/8
5/8=140
8/8=??
8/8×8/5×140
=224 eggs
