if youre solving for x it would be 110/3
4x - 5 + 2x - 35 = 180
first combine x, 3x and 2x to get 6x
6x - 5 - 35 = 180
then subtract 35 from -5 to get -40
6x - 40 = 180
add 40 to each side
6x - 40 + 40 = 180 + 40
add 180 and 40
6x = 220
divide
6x/6 = 220/6
x = 110/3
and theres you answer
4x - 5 + 2x - 35 = 180
first combine x, 3x and 2x to get 6x
6x - 5 - 35 = 180
then subtract 35 from -5 to get -40
6x - 40 = 180
add 40 to each side
6x - 40 + 40 = 180 + 40
add 180 and 40
6x = 220
divide
6x/6 = 220/6
x = 110/3
and theres you answer
