say mass one = 1 alligator
and
mass 2 = 3 alligators
k ( 50 - T)* 1 alligator = k (T-15) * 3 alligators
so
50 - T = 3 (T - 15)
50 - T = 3 T - 45
4 T = 95
T = 95/4
a little under 24

the little one went up about 9 and the big one came down about 26
