Lisa is in the same class as James. She also had to read the same book, but started on Tuesday. On Tuesday she read 2⁄5. On Wednesday she read 3⁄8. What amount does she need to read on Thursday?

She read;
2 / 5 + 3 / 8 = 8 ∙ 2 / 8 ∙ 5 + 5 ∙ 3 / 5 ∙ 8 = 16 / 40 + 15 / 40 = 31 / 40
parts of book
She need to read:
1 - 31 / 40 = 40 / 40 - 31 / 40 = 9 / 40
part of book.
