A circut consists of three 1,5 V cells connected in series together with 50 Ohm resistor and an ammeter.

(a) calculate the emf of the battery
(b) the reading of the ammeter

a. voltage = 1.5 x 3 = 4.5 volts
b. V = IR.
4.5 = I*50
I = 4.5/50 = ? amperes.
