Ice melts in the water while remaining at 0 degrees Celsius. Which energy changes occur as it melts? (1 point)
A. The kinetic energy of the molecules will increase, and the potential energy remains the same.
B. Both the kinetic and potential energy will increase.
C. The potential energy of the molecules will increase, and the kinetic energy stays the same.
D. Both the kinetic and potential energy will remain the same.***
I just want someone to check my answer plz.

To melt ice you have to put heat in. (Heat of fusion of water.)
That heat has to increase the energy of the system somehow.
The melted molecules certainly move more once released from the ice crystals so I suspect the kinetic energy goes up.
I am not sure what the potential energy of a molecule is.
