your calculation appears correct, but I cannot make sense of all the "The figure is a triangle is a triangle" stuff.

I have a question too.
Find the area of the parallelogram. The figure is not drawn to scale.

The figure is a parallelogram with the base of 38 in. The height is a dotted line forming a right angle and measured 35 in. The slanted line to the left is 44 in.

My response is A = 38 * 35. A = 1,330. I ask the same Sum1Lives asked. Thank you all!

Okay oobleck. Thank you. The figure is the image, and it's a triangle. The question comes with an image. Now that I see it, I did make a mistake explaining it. My apologizes.

Being other questions are being asked here, I'd like to ask my own. What is the area of the kite? The diagonals are 10, 20, 2, 2.
My answer is 60.
Answered by Sum1Lives
I think you are correct Shani. How'd you get it?
Answered by Shani Vancare
I added the diagonals together. I did 10 + 20= 30. 2 + 2 = 4.

A = 1/2(30)(4)
A = 60
