Nick spent $716 on jackets and cardigans. The number of cardigans he bought was 1/2 the number of jackets he bought. The cost of a cardigan was $11 more than the cost of a jacket. He paid $180 more on jackets than on cardigans. Find the cost of 8 jackets and 5 cardigans.

x + x+180 = 716
so he spent $268 on cardigans and $448 on jackets
so if he bought c cardigans and j jackets,
j = 2c
268/c = 448/j + 11
solve for c and j, and then find 5c+8j
