Nicole and Gavin had an equal number of crayons. After Nicole gave away 37 crayons and Gavin gave away 46 crayons, Nicole had 2 times as many crayons as Gavin. How many crayons did each have at first?

E-37 = 2(G-46)
but E = G
E-37 = 2E - 92
E = G = 92-37 = 55
but E = G
E-37 = 2E - 92
E = G = 92-37 = 55
