Madeline uses this scale model of a design she plans to paint on a wall. She uses the key 1 cm = 1.5 ft. One gallon of paint will cover 400 square feet of wall.

How many gallons of paint will Madeline use?

since we have no idea how big the model is, we have no way to know how big the room is. But, when you figure that out, just divide the area by 400.

If the area of the model is m in^2, then the area of the room will be
(1.5m)^2 = (2.25m^2) ft^2
