A dialysis membrane works to filter blood if the kidneys fail. A dialysis membrane is selectively permeable like a cell membrane. Why is it important for a cell membrane to be selectively permeable?

because if it was all the way permeable, then everything would be able to get in even bad bacteria and stuff
