A hiker walks 250 meters at 40 degrees south of west and then goes 500 meters due north. What displacement vector will get the hiker back to where he started?

where was hiker at?
west dist 250 cos 40 = 192
north dist = 500 - 259 sin 40 = 333.5
so must go 333.5 south and 192 east
angle south of east = arc tan (333.5 / 192)
