Why would researching the average earnings by major and by career be useful to you as you choose an institute for higher education?

I can't answer this for you because it depends upon what is important to you as you enter a degree program and head out in the cold cruel world to make a life and possibly a name for yourself. Is it prestige you want? Is it money you want? Is it to be a CEO of a major company? a smaller company? Just what. But it seems to me that you want to know how well any would be higher learning institution would measure up to your career goals.
