Counterclaim: the opposite side of an argument.
Example
Claim (Argument): Cats are great pets because they are so clean.
Counterargument: Cats still make messes like when they jump onto tables, they knock things to the ground.
Identify one counterclaim that could be used against one of the writer's arguments and explain why it would be considered valid (acceptable or logical).
First, identify the argument that the writer makes.
Next, write your counterargument and explain why your idea is stronger than the writer's
