I'm taking the test and my answer is "She should have used an ellipsis instead because I would add more dramatic effect to sentence." I'm not sure this will work for you (you would probably have to change the wording a bit), but I hope I could have been of some service to you guys. :)

for mine i put “ using an ellipsis gives a sense of dramatics, it puts more emotion into the writing. writers typically use ellipsis to show a pause or change in time. At least that’s why I would put an ellipsis instead of a comma.”
