How many passengers are in each car? You can figure that out from the first sentence. ahere's how:
Three of the 45 people per car are not passengers. The rest are. How many is that?
Then multiply that number of passengers by the number of carriages.

41x12=492 passengers
12x3=36 stewards
12x1=12 gaurds
so in all the train is carrying 540 people.
