Let me point out that asking someone to think is not rude. We don't learn by getting someone to do our work for us. Perhaps one learns to read better but that doesn't help all that much in working a chemistry problem/question. If a student tells me what s/he is having trouble with then I know how to pitch my answer or which url on the web may help. Rude is one of those words the uninitiated uses when they don't have anything to say.
