t ≈ -0.4 or 149.4

or, since 1.045 = 1.025^1.78259,
if x = 1.025, we have
40x^3.56518 - 40x + 1 = 0
x = .025 or.99
1.025^t = .025 or .99
t = 149.39 or -.407
