Two friends are discussing physical and chemical changes. Anna says that when you eat, it is a physical change because when you chew, the food is only being changed into smaller pieces. Elsa says that when you eat, it is a chemical change because your body digests the food as the chemicals in your body break down the food into energy. Who is right?
A) Anna
B) Elsa
C) Both girls are correct

Both girls are discussing two different times.
Yes, chewing food is a physical change as it is breaking large pieces into smaller pieces. After the smaller pieces are formed then digestion takes over and that is a chemical change. I would go with Anna being correct WHILE CHEWING. Elsa is correct for anything after that.
