I think you might mean
a = h / b
if h = 25 hits
and b = 50 times at bat
then you got
a = 25 / 50 = 1 hit for every 2 times at bat = 0.500
then
a b = h
and
b = h / a
a = h / b
if h = 25 hits
and b = 50 times at bat
then you got
a = 25 / 50 = 1 hit for every 2 times at bat = 0.500
then
a b = h
and
b = h / a
