Mickey Mouse had 110 stamps and Donald Duck had 47 stamps. When each one gave away the same number of stamps, Mickey Mouse then had 4 times as many stamps as Donald Duck. How many stamps did each friend give away?

110 - x = 4 (47-x)
110 - x = 188- 4 x
3 x = 78
x = 26
