    4x-3 = log(3x+3)
This doesn't yield to algebraic solution, but any good calculator or numeric technique will get you (assuming logs base 10)
x ≈ 0.9413
now, if you meant to say
log(4x-3)=log(x+1)+log 3
then that means
4x-3 = 3x+3
x = 6
