Complete the function table. Then write a rule for the function.
A two column table is shown. The first column is titled 'Input' and contains negative 3, negative 2, negative 1, 0, and 1 from top to bottom. The second column is titled 'Output' and contains an empty box, negative 4, an empty box, an empty box, and negative 1 from top to bottom.

There are infinitely many functions that could take on those two values.
If it's a linear function, though, we know that the slope is
(-1-(-4))/(1-(-2)) = 3/3 = 1
so the equation is
y = x+b
Now use either of the points to determine the value of b.
Now you can fill in the table.

To find the function rule, we can analyze the values in the table and look for a relationship between the input and output values. In this case, we can see that the output value is 1 less than the input value. So, we can write the function rule as:
f(x) = x - 1
where "x" is the input value and "f(x)" is the corresponding output value.
f(x) = x - 1
where "x" is the input value and "f(x)" is the corresponding output value.

The inequality to represent the situation is:
t > -15
where "t" represents the temperature. This inequality can be read as "the temperature (t) is greater than (-) fifteen".
t > -15
where "t" represents the temperature. This inequality can be read as "the temperature (t) is greater than (-) fifteen".
