Collaborative Discussion Discussion
Major themes in literature often relate back to the idea of “good vs. evil.” For example, in novels you can often find a brave hero facing off against a wicked villain to teach the reader that being good and doing the right thing is what is best for society. These stories usually show the hero as being all good and the villain as being all bad, and the choice to do the right thing is always very clear. However, how does this apply to the real world?
The article, “A teen and a trolley reveal society’s dark side,” explores this debate. Examine the article and determine whether you believe that people can be completely good or whether you think there is a dark side to us all. Explain your reasoning.
Post a detailed response to the Trolley Discussion prompt. Then respond to two posts.

here is what I wrote please put this in your own for and dont copy :).
Prepare for the discussion by reading the article, "Hunting."
I don't love the thought of animals being hunted...But I do believe hunters need to have a licenses and a permit. I don't think people under the age of 16-18 should be aloud to hunt alone unless it is absolutely needed. I also don't think anyone should be aloud to buy a gun. I get scared when I hear gun shots...I have woods close to be and Its very sad to me. I'm kind of in the middle if I agree or disagree. But I mostly disagree. It's okay if you dont agree with what I said have a good day :)))))).

The skeletal system of humans vs bugs.
1 year ago
The skeletal system of humans and bugs has crucial differences. While the skeletal system of humans is made up of bones, which provide support and structure to the body, the skeletal system of bugs is made up of an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton of bugs is made up of chitin, a strong and flexible material that provides protection to the body.
The exoskeleton of bugs is on the outside of their bodies, providing maximum protection to internal organs. In contrast, the bones in the human skeletal system are on the inside of the body, protecting the vital organs while allowing for flexibility in movement.
Another significant difference between the two skeletal systems is that the exoskeleton of bugs does not grow with the body. Instead, bugs periodically shed their exoskeleton and replace it with a new, larger one as they grow. On the other hand, the human skeletal system grows with the body, with bones continually reshaping and reforming throughout a person's life.
In conclusion, the skeletal system of humans and bugs play a vital role in providing support and protection to the body. While human skeletons consist of bones on the inside of their body, bug skeletal systems consist of exoskeletons on the outside of their body, providing protection to their organs.

shorten it to where it makes sense.
1 year ago
Humans have a skeleton made of bones, while bugs have a skeleton made of an exoskeleton, which is made of chitin. The exoskeleton of bugs is outside and does not grow with the body; they need to shed it periodically and grow new ones. Human bones are inside the body, protecting organs and grow with the body throughout life.

conduct an investigation and evaluate the experimental design to provide
evidence of electromagnetic fields
1 year ago
Here's an example investigation to evaluate the experimental design and provide evidence of electromagnetic fields:
Experimental Design:
To investigate the presence of electromagnetic fields, we will use a handheld electromagnetic field detector and conduct the following experiment.
1. Set up the electromagnetic field detector at a fixed distance from an electrical source.
2. Turn on the electrical source and record the measurement of the electromagnetic field detector.
3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 with various electrical sources, including power outlets, light fixtures, and electronic devices.
4. Record all measurements and analyze the data to determine if there is a correlation between electromagnetic fields and electrical sources.
Evaluation:
The experimental design appears to be a suitable method to provide evidence of electromagnetic fields. The use of a handheld electromagnetic field detector is a reliable and accurate method to measure the presence and strength of these fields.
However, to ensure the validity and accuracy of the experiment, some additional considerations need to be taken into account. Firstly, it is essential to use a calibrated detector that has been tested for accuracy. Secondly, it's important to control other variables that may affect the electromagnetic field measurement, such as distance, location, and orientation of the detector.
Additionally, to increase the reliability of the results, the experiment could be repeated several times using different detectors and under different environmental conditions to ensure consistency in the data.
Overall, conducting an investigation using a well-designed experimental method can provide reliable evidence of the presence of electromagnetic fields. However, it's important to consider all variables that can affect the results and ensure the accuracy and validity of the experiment.

Note: Enter your answer and show all the steps that you use to solve this problem in the space provided.
A circle has a diameter of 28 centimeters.
Estimate the area of the circle. Use
3.14
or
22
7
for
π
.
1 year ago
To estimate the area of the circle, we'll use the formula:
Area = (π/4) x diameter^2
Using the given diameter of 28 centimeters, we get:
Area = (3.14/4) x 28^2
Area = (0.785) x 784
Area = 615.44
Therefore, the estimated area of the circle is 615.44 square centimeters.

In this discussion, you will discuss whether you believe Mexico’s oil industry should be privatized.
Begin your discussion by reading the provided sources and addressing the following prompt:
Should oil production in Mexico be privatized?
Post a detailed response to the discussion prompt. Then do the following:
Respond to a classmate who answered that yes, Mexico’s oil industry should be privatized.
Respond to a classmate who answered that no, Mexico’s oil industry should not be privatized.
1 year ago
In my opinion, I believe that Mexico's oil industry should not be privatized. I think the government should continue to have control over this valuable resource. One reason for my stance is that Mexico's oil industry is a significant source of income for the government, which is then used for social programs and infrastructure development. If the oil industry is privatized, it could potentially lead to the misuse of this resource and the loss of revenue for the government, which could affect Mexico's economic stability.
Furthermore, I believe that the government should continue to have control over the prices and regulations related to oil production and distribution. If the industry is privatized, these important regulatory measures may not be upheld, which could lead to environmental damage and harm to individuals who live in areas affected by oil production.
On the other hand, some may argue that the privatization of the oil industry could lead to increased efficiency and innovation. However, I believe that this potential benefit is outweighed by the potential losses to the government and the people of Mexico.
Response to classmate who answered yes: I understand your perspective on the matter, but I respectfully disagree. While the privatization of the oil industry could lead to increased efficiency, I believe the risks associated with the loss of government control and revenue outweigh any potential benefits.
Response to classmate who answered no: I completely agree with your stance on the matter. Mexico's oil industry is one of the most significant sources of income for the government, and privatization could lead to the loss of this valuable resource and affect the economy and social programs. Additionally, government control over regulations and prices is important to ensure the protection of the environment and the wellbeing of individuals in affected areas.
