Parabola Set #1
y = x^2 + 2 x + 7
y = x^2 - 4 x - 1
=================== subtract
0 = 0 + 6 x + 8
x = - 8/6 = - 4/3
y = (-4/3)^2 + 2 (-4/3) + 7
= 16/9 - 8/3 + 7
= 16/9 - 24/9 + 63/9 = 55/9
or
y = 16/9 +48/9 - 9/9 = 55/9 just to check
now you do the second one
y = x^2 + 2 x + 7
y = x^2 - 4 x - 1
=================== subtract
0 = 0 + 6 x + 8
x = - 8/6 = - 4/3
y = (-4/3)^2 + 2 (-4/3) + 7
= 16/9 - 8/3 + 7
= 16/9 - 24/9 + 63/9 = 55/9
or
y = 16/9 +48/9 - 9/9 = 55/9 just to check
now you do the second one
