A jet travels 480 miles in 2 hours. At this rate, how far could the jet fly in 10 hours?

Read the question carefully.
I think that what you have to do is divide 480/2 and then what you get for your answer, you multiply it by 10.
480 divided by 2 (480/2)= a
a * 10= Your answer

Do 480 miles divided by 2 hours to find how far the jet can travel even each hour. You get that the jet can fly 240 miles in 1 hour. Since you need to find how far it flies in 10 hours, simply multiply the distance the jet can travel in 1 hour by 10. So: 240 miles per hour * 10 hours = 2400 miles.
