The lengths of the legs of a right triangle are 8 cm and 15 cm

What is the length of the hypotenuse

6 answers

Pythagorean theorem

8^2 + 15^2 = h^2
46 cm I think? Sorry, I just don't remember much of how to do the formula/thingy for the hypotenuse.
Wait, PsyDAG, what exactly does the sign "^" do?? Does it mean like, to the power of whichever number that you're doing it by??
That is the exponent
Multiply the first two terms by themselves, then add them to get h. Find the square root of h.
So like, 8 x 8, then 15 x 15 and adding whatever you get to get h and then after that you find the square roof of h??
