Jamie had 90 ounces of a new fruit juice drink. 40% of the drink was cherry juice. The rest was pear juice. After adding more cherry juice, the percentage of pear juice decreased to 10%. How many ounces of cherry juice had Jamie added to the mixture?

If x oz were added, then look at the amount of cherry juice present.
.40*90 + x = .90(90+x)
.40*90 + x = .90(90+x)
