    Because half of 120 = 60 & half of 60 = 30.

    1. 20 * 12 * (1-3/8) = 240 * 5/8 = ?
2. Process
x - 1/2 -1/4 = x -3/4 = 1/4x = 30

2. Process
x - 1/2 -1/4 = x -3/4 = 1/4x = 30

    1. Total oranges → 20 × 12 = 240 Oranges given to Ben → 3/8 × 240 = 90
Oranges kept for himself → 240 – 90 = 150
Ken had 150 oranges left.
2. 1/2 of remainder = 30 2
Remainder → 2 × 30 = 60
1/2 of total → 60
Total → 2 × 60 = 120
He had 120 apples at first.

    gave away half and a quarter (half of half) so has 1/4 left
(1/4) a = 30
a = 120

(1/4) a = 30
a = 120
