Let the number of half-dollars = H
Number of quarters =4H
Number of dimes = 3H
So
H + 4H + 3H = 56
8H = 56
H = 56/8 = 7
Number of quarters = 4(7) = 28
28 - 7 = 21 fewer half-dollars than quarters
Number of quarters =4H
Number of dimes = 3H
So
H + 4H + 3H = 56
8H = 56
H = 56/8 = 7
Number of quarters = 4(7) = 28
28 - 7 = 21 fewer half-dollars than quarters
