if 30 6th graders own birds, how many sixth-graders were surveyed?
I don't know how to do this, all i can come up with is that there was a lot of people surveyed.

Toyland is having a sale. All items are 20% off. How much will you save on an item that usually sells for $95? I think it would be 95 - 20% so 76?

x = 30/.3 = 100

not 95-0.2 but 95*0.2 = = 19.00
you should have subtracted the amount saved, not the price ratio..

then you would 95-76=19
so you saved 19$ on something that was 95$
