Question

Mrs. Hilt has 6 pizzas. Each pizza has 6 slices. She sold one-fourth (1⁄4) of the pizza slices. How many slices were left?
So do I do 6 x 6 = 36 slices. 36 x 1 ÷ 4 = 9 slices. She has 36 - 9 = 27
Is that true?

Yes, it is true. However, online, “*” is used to indicate multiplication to avoid confusion with “x” as an unknown.

36 * 1/4 = 9
