Explain how mental math can be used to estimate a 15% tip on a taxi ride that costs $23.25.
I'd like if someone can respond asap. The lesson for this didn't make sense to me which is why I'm asking for it, I don't do this for everything, it's only for when I really need it. ^^

I would say ten percent is about 2.33
another 5% is about half of that or 1.15
the sum is about15% or about 2.5+1.0 = $3.50
the real answer from your cell phone is .15* 23.25 = 3.49 close enough :)
