Johnny says you cannot determine the value of log3(9) because there is no meaning. Samira says she can find a value for log-3(9). Explain who is correct and justify your reasoning.

the base of a log is always positive
3^2 = 9 so log_3(9) = 2
even though (-3)^2 is also 9, negative bases for logs are not permitted.
