CaCO3(s) + 2HCl(aq)  CaCl2(aq) + H2O (l) +CO2(g)
The net ionic equation is [CO3]^2- + 2H^+ ==>H2O(l) + CO2(g)
So Ca^2+ and 2Cl^- are the spectator ions.
