4+2(5x-8)=ax+b
what values of a and b would make the equation have infinitely many solutions

4+2(5x-8) = 4 + 10x - 16
so, you want
10x-12 = ax+b
to be true for any value of x.
What do you think?
Answered by preston
how many solutions would there be if a=10 and b=-4
Answered by oobleck
Just do the math.
10x-12 = 10x - 4
-12 = -4
Is that ever true?
Answered by preston
no
Answered by AFG I am X
a(6x + 4) = 18x + b
