if you can go 19 mi in 1/4 hr , how far can you go in 3 times the time?

you have all the quantities -- just do the multiplications

(3/4 hr) * (19mi)/(1/4 hr) = 3/4 * 19 * 4/1 = 57 mi
Note how the units cancel, just like the numbers: hr * mi/hr = mi
That's why distance = speed * time
