Answered by lol
There wrong for 4 and 11
Answered by Giyuu simp
So #8 and #11 are incorrect. Because those questions changed.
#8 is “Which meaning defines the word subterranean?” Answer: “below ground”.
#11 is “Which is the most likely meaning of the word anachronous?” Answer: “not in the right time”.

Everything else is correct.
If the questions change again help out. I wont be in 8th grade forever, lol.
Answered by Giyuu simp
Btw #4 is 1 respire and 2 permeate.

Answer to written questions

12. The word Ambidextrous, means that someone can use each of their arms similarly, for instance they could write with both of their hands, or consume with each of their hands. Therefore, in the text given above while it reads "Carlos became ambidextrous, so, while he sprained his proper wrist, he became nonetheless capable of throw correctly with this left hand." This is explaining to the reader that he's capable of using each of his arms similarly well, and consequently explaining to us what ambidextrous means.

13. Transgressed mean to cross the boundary or rule one has set on the individual. The context clues can be tricky, since one might think that transgressing might be beneficial, since the principal is not expelling her. However, the beginning word "Even" puts a negative connation on the sentence. This means the student should be expelled, yet the principal did not expel her. You could rewrite this sentence as, "The principal refused to suspend or expel her, even though the student repeatedly transgressed the school’s rules. This helps to understand that the word transgressed means breaking or exceeding a rule and or standard.

14. Flammable means a substance that can be easily lit on fire. The suffix "able" means something that is likely or "able" to happen. A context clue could be the phrase, "lighting a match," since when lighting a match produces fire. The fire on the match could then ignite the flammable liquids in the container, causing the liquid to combust or possibly explode.

Enjoy!

This was my answer for 12

12. Ambidextrous is a rare trait that allows you to use both right and your left hand, in which only 1% of the population has. Both of the context clues and word parts helped me discover the words meaning because in the passage it said "he will still able to throw accurately with his left hand" meaning that he could use his left hand as good as his right hand. Another context clue is that it said WHEN he sprained his right wrist, meaning that he was able to use his left wrist.
