construct the equilateral triangle.
construct the perpendicular bisectors of two of the sides.
Their intersection will be the circumcenter of the triangle, so set your compass with the point at the intersection, and the pencil on one vertex of the triangle, and draw the circle.
Or, even easier,
Draw a circle. The sides of the inscribed hexagon is equal to the radius of the circle, so mark off all 6 points on the circle that are that far apart. Connect alternate points, and you will have an inscribed equilateral triangle.
