Find the equation of the tangent at x=1

1. y=x^2+2x-5

3 answers

y' = 2x+2
y'(1) = 4
y(1) = -3
so the tangent line is
y+3 = 4(x-1)
for y(1) how did you get -3? Would it be -2?
you are correct. Good catch
