Not only is a US gallon different than the imperial gallon, but the US fluid ounce is
different from the Imperial fluid ounce, as you showed in your post.
To confuse the issue even further, a fluid ounce measures liquid, while a regular ounce
weighs mass.
All the more reason for the US to finally go metric.
