When a ball is slowly rolled across a horizontal plane, why is the velocity constant? Is it because the rate of position changing over time is constant or because the acceleration is zero?

acceleration is the change in velocity.
constant velocity means zero acceleration.

Oh okay, but why is the velocity constant? Shouldn't it decrease because the ball rolls slower over time?
