a large box of chocolates cost $3 more than a small box. a customer buys three small boxes and four large boxes and pays $64.50. find the cost of each sized box.
I'm completely stumped, been trying to figure it out for an hour and my parents can't even figure it out.

If the small box costs x, the large box costs x+3, so just add up the costs:
3x + 4(x+3) = 64.50

3x + 4(x+3) = 64.50
